Though these dogs make wonderful pets, it so happens that their owners cannot keep them any longer for various reasons. Responsible owners will never leave a pet in the street, but will do everything possible for the well-being of the dog. Any owner of a purebred dog can surrender it to a special volunteer organization that helps dogs of this breed. Puppies are very rarely surrendered by their owners; the majority of abandoned dogs are senior. Adult and senior dogs are a good choice for working people and those who have no time for socializing and housetraining a puppy.
