Though dogs of this breed are very intelligent, it takes them up to 3 years of age to develop fully. Many dogs remain very playful for their whole lives. The main beauty of the breed is its luxurious glossy coat. These dogs need much grooming to keep the coat in a good conditions and prevent mats. Heavy shedding makes this breed impossible to keep indoors for fastidious housekeepers. These dogs are susceptible to hot spots, which may be allergic reactions to fleas or food or hormonal imbalance.
