Baby giraffe are protected by conservation groups and sometimes raised on a farm. The species reaches sexual maturity by the age of 3-4 years. The Giraffe has few natural predators. After a gestation period of about 15 months, a female gives birth to one calf. However, twins can also be born but is rare.
