When the dog is at attention or excited, the head is raised and the neck carried high. The dog’s typical head carriage is forward rather than up and but little higher than the top of the shoulders, particularly in motion. The neck is strong and muscular, clean-cut and rather long. It is proportionate in size to the head and without loose folds of skin. The ideal dog has a double coat of medium length. The outer coat should be as dense as possible, straight, harsh and lying close to the body.

This breed is incomparable in terms of reliability and eagerness for work. But actually, it would be wrong to buy a dog of this breed and think you already have an animal able to perform any task. It takes much knowledge, time and attention to socialize and train any dog, especially such intelligent and independent one. To succeed in training, the master has to make exercises interesting and stimulating; drill and dull repetitive training sessions can do nothing but harm.
