German Shepard

There are many german shepard rescues that care for the dogs. Nowadays, there are several varieties within the breed; they vary in their working abilities, body build, coat color and texture. High intelligence, reliability and ability to do specialized work unite all varieties and make them suited both for the show ring and for the role of a family companion. Originally developed as herders, these dogs have become very versatile. Only in remote regions of East Germany, these dogs are still used for herding sheep. The looks of these dogs were dictated by the cold weather in the area and predatory animals they had to fight. There are many german shepard rescues that care for the dogs.

All dogs should receive daily physical and mental exercise sessions. This breed is an active one and needs both in order to be happy, and consequently, keep their owners happy. Depending on the age and activity level of the particular dog, physical exercise might amount to throwing a ball for 10 to 30 minutes. Mental exercises are also a very important factor in creating a well-balanced dog. Obedience sessions, learning new exercises including play breaks, make them fun for both dog and owner. Positive training can be incorporated into the dog's daily life to the enjoyment of both sides. There are many german shepard rescues that care for the dogs.
