Also called Swainson's Francolin, Red-Billed Francolin, Crested Francolin, Partridge, Hildebrant's Francolin, Erckel's Francolin.
These birds can be found from northwest Venezuela (and occasionally in some sections of Panama) along both the eastern and central Cordilleras of the Andes mountains (see note below) into Ecuador (primarily western Andean slope) and into the northwest Peru. An exotic bird breeder can usually get recommendations from other breeders and is a member of a breeder club.
