There are 4 main species of these birds. Birds of the greater species inhabit some territory in Africa, the Middle East, India, southern South America, the West Indies, and Europe. The lesser flamingo can be found in Kenya and Tanzania. Birds of the James’ and Andean species inhabit area near highland lakes of the Andes Mountains in South America.
