These felines have flat and large heads ad muscular bodies. The coat consists of two layers, the lower one being impenetrable for water. These animals excel in swimming, because their paws are strong and movable, and prefer densely vegetated areas in the vicinity of water.

These felines have two white strips running up from the eyes to the top of the head, and the body occurs in grizzle-gray with dark brown or black longitudinal spots or strips. Both parents take part in rearing the young, but males were reported to have shown aggression against females. If you are going to buy fishing cats from a farm, don't trust their photos.
