Also called Brazilian Fila Mastiff.
The dogs are well boned with a rectangular structure. The ancestors of the breed are Bloodhounds that have rather long muzzles, pendulous skin, and superb tracking ability. The dogs have rather heavy muzzles with pendulous upper lips giving the dog a Mastiff appearance.
