Ferret Cages
Ferret cages are not superfluous additions to your ferret’s life. In fact, ferrets spend a ton of time in them for pleasure. Climbing, eating, and sleeping are in contrast to the scurrying and mishaps outside of the cage. Be sure to purchase multi-level cages with solid floors because wire mesh is exposed, hurts their little feet, and is unsanitary. Various excrement or other scraps like uneaten food are sometimes found outside of the cage from a lack of supervision, understandably so, by the ferrets themselves. Add-on cages allow you to increase the ferret’s play area as needed. A balcony, ramp, tunnel, or toy is complementary and supplementary but somewhat necessary for ferrets.
Ferrets are unusual, fun creatures that require ferret cages. Some people prefer small cages and plenty of ferrets roaming throughout the house during the day. However, this preference is unsanitary for your and your family and potentially harmful to your ferret.
These curious troublemaking vermin require containment. Cats and dogs can roam more freely because of their larger size and independent natures – plus a propensity for ingrained training techniques. Ferrets love to chew. If no one is home, the cage is a perfect spot for your ferret to hang out. The multi-floor cage is popular. Durable metal structures encased in plastic are the best solutions for these fun rodent dudes. There should be space for a water dish, food bowl, hammock, and plenty of room to pounce, run, and play around the cage.
Some ferret cages make exclusive use of metal. Pets cannot escape from these very sturdy cages. Ideally, the ferret cage should be fitted out with a hammock or snuggly spot for your ferret to curl up in and have a rest. Don’t forget to line the ferret cage with shavings and newspapers. Ramps, add-on shelves, balconies, plastic tubes like tunnels, and other playthings are what ferrets thrive with. Ferret cages should be expandable for future furry friends. Ferrets love to scurry so give them a way to access the exterior of the cage from time to time. Ferret cages shouldn’t act like prisons – rather, fun play centers and places to snooze in.
