This breed originated in England for bull baiting. Bull bating as a “sport” earned a great popularity in the middle ages, especially among royalty and noblemen. Upkeeping of the breed is rather easy due to its short coat and low activity. Purebred puppies usually cost $1200-$1500. Pet quality dogs are less expensive, but they may have slight deviations from the standard or some undesirable features. However, if there is no breeding in your plans, a pet quality dog will be a better option for you.
