Elk males naturally grow and shed a set of antlers once each year. Elks differ from other hoofed animals because elks’ antlers grow from two little bumps on the frontal bone of the skull. While their antlers are growing, they are covered with a skin that is called “velvet”. Deer elk farms are ideal places to go hunting if the area encompasses several thousand acres of land.
