Duck Picture

A duck picture can usually be found on most breeder sites that have pictures of the birds in their aviaries. These birds have a number of natural predators and are popular as game birds. Everything in these birds is adapted to living near water sources; they are excellent swimmers and divers. They feed on aquatic vegetation, snails, larvae and insects that are abundant in water. These birds are migratory. For breeding they choose freshwater marshes, lakes, slow-moving streams, marshy sloughs and ponds where they can find food and protection for the ducklings. When the offspring becomes independent, these birds migrate southwards to coastal marshes, sheltered bays, shallow inland ponds and lakes or wet meadows. A duck picture can usually be found on most breeder sites that have pictures of the birds in their aviaries.
