When farming these birds, it is advised to set up a swimming hole and let the birds enjoy water for a while. This is done daily in good weather. Feeder is usually placed not far from water. Yet, one should not put a bird feeder and a waterer too close. Otherwise, it will lead to the food getting wet and the molds developing, which can be lethal for the birds. Mash is not recommended for the young. It is also unwise to feed the birds medicated chick food. Overall, these are omnivorous birds.
