Duck Hunting Picture
Hunters are sure to have a duck hunting picture, whereas breeders usually offer a chick photo.
These birds are popular game birds. They are not endangered throughout their range, though they have many mammalian and avian predators and are harvested by humans. All species of these birds are known for their flock formations, which provides predator protection and location of abundant food sources. Several ‘watchbirds’ are alert when the flock is sleeping; they provide loud alarm calls when a predator approaches the flock. These birds are perfectly adapted to aquatic lifestyle; they spend a great deal of time on preening and feather maintenance to make them waterproof. They coat their feathers with oil from the oil gland.

Duck Hunting Picture -
breeders, chick
These are very undemanding birds though they need water anyway. All domesticated birds of this family have descended from mallards. The mallards are found mostly in North America and Northern Central America. They nest under boulders, in tree holes, in the crotch of trees, or in open areas. Mallards are the most common birds of this type in North America and are about 50-60 cm. (20.5 -28 in.) long. The males are colored brightly and the females have paler coloring. The birds mature quickly and may breed in less than 12 months of age; their average lifespan is one or two years. Hunters are sure to have a duck hunting picture, whereas breeders usually offer a chick photo.
