The breed is a combination of ten different breeds, each for their own unique qualities. The Fighting Dog of Cordoba, now extinct, was the basis of the breed. The following breeds were added to the present breed: the Pointer, the Boxer, the Great Dane, the Bull Terrier, the Great Pyrenees, the Irish Wolfhound, the Dogue de Bordeaux and the Spanish Mastiff.
