The Argentine Dogo is the result of many interbreeding between different breeds. Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez began his experiments in the 1920's; he crossed the following breeds: Great Dane, Boxer, Spanish Mastiff, Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Great Pyrenees, Pointer, Irish Wolfhound and Dogue de Bordeaux.
