Dog Behavior Training

When you get a puppy, the first thing to think about is dog behavior training. You want to start right off the bat with a puppy because they will learn right and wrong at a young age, and you'll be able to stop bad behavior decisively. Not everyone has the patience to train a puppy. You may not know the first thing in training so you may need some help in training your dog. With a puppy you want to start with paper training. Your dog will know how to eat and how to drink. They will know how to use the bathroom but they won't know where. Place paper or wee-wee pads in the place where you want your dog to go. Try to use one place because they will get confused if you place paper everywhere.

You want to teach your dog simply commands such as stop, heel, sit and come. There are many techniques used to help you teach your dog commands and behaviors. Teaching them to heel takes some work. Start by walking your dog on a leash and then gently tugging on the leash and say "heel" in a firm voice. They may not pay attention for a bit but they will get it. Dog behavior training doesn't have to be done overnight. It will take a week or so to get your dog to understand the concept of the command.

If you really have no patience or really no time to execute dog behavior training then you may want to hire someone who is capable of doing that. There are training schools all over the place. You can look in your local Yellow Pages and find the closest school. Then, take your dog on a tour and meet with the instructors, make sure the school has a good reputation. Within a period of a month or a few months depending on what you want your dog to be taught, will learn perfect dog behavior with the benefit of dog behavior training.

Several experts concur that you shouldn't abuse or harm your dog in the midst of dog behavior training. There are several reasons why. First of all, the dog will not be as friendly, forthright, and playful. Most importantly, dog behavior training is about making the dog happier in the future.
