These creatures have intense eyes that vary in color from yellow to orange. The coat of the hound is very short and therefore it requires little grooming. These hounds were raised as hunters and they were domesticated by Australian Aborigines.

These hounds are very mobile and active mostly at night. These hounds have coat that comes in colors of yellow-ginger, but can occur in tan, black or white, including an occasional brindle; albinos have also been seen.
