In recent years there has been a program aiming at creating a non-migratory flock in Florida. There have been also many efforts undertaken to establish a breeding population in the western great Lakes Region. The creatures are endangered species as they loose their home range.

Crane European Fly -
breeder, photos
The Common type of these birds mainly feeds on plants: all kinds of berries, stalks, but also on small animals: frogs, snakes, insects, etc. It migrates to North Africa to winter and so we can hear and see them flying in triangles. There is a saying that when the birds leave the weather gets cold. A crane european fly breeder may take photos because it's so beautiful.
