Dog Breeder
A dog breeder may have a stockpile of pictures and photos.
There is a Standard that is the description of an ideal representative of the breed. The CTCA standard, first published in 1974, is adapted from the original Malagasy breed type. These hounds should be about 10-12 inches (25-30 cm.) high and weigh about 12-15 pounds (5.5-7 kg.).

There exists the huge French all-breed hound corporation, the Federation Cynologique Internationale, maintains a different standard for canines developed in Europe since 1977 and in 1999. The French Coton de Tulear Club adopted--over the protests of most European breeders--a new standard that calls for a long-backed, short-legged, all white Maltese-like hound.
