Puppies for sale are sometimes given away when no buyer can be found; a breeder may have given training to his pets.
The hound has a skull that is somewhat rounded with proportionate muzzle and slightly accentuated stop. The top view is triangular and these are the following tape measurements: muzzle to stop, 1.75-2.5" (4.5 to 6.4 cm); stop to occiput, 4-5" (10.2 to 12.7 cm); total head length, 6-7.25" (15.2 to 18.4 cm).

The Coton is not a toy hound and is an excellent companion for the whole family. In the Western Hemisphere, the Coton de Tulear is registered by the Coton de Tulear Club of America [CTCA].
