In the fall, it is necessary to quit feeding the reptiles and prepare them to hibernate. They should be left in a cold room for about eight weeks. In the beginning of February, the reptiles should be brought back to their usual room. After a period of about four weeks, they start shedding. The male is introduced to the female enclosure about one week after the female sheds. After mating, the female sheds once again. She lays her eggs within 10 to 14 days.
