The usual coloring of the birds is green with pale olive under the wings. The head, including the forehead, crown, lores, ear coverts and cheeks are dull royal blue. The eyes are surrounded by a bare white patch of skin and the iris is reddish-orange. Maroon bellied conure aviary breeders are not difficult to find.
