Also called Rough Collie, Smooth Collie.
The coat is abundant on the mane and frill of the dog. The five recognized coat colors are sable and white, blue merle, sable merle, tricolor, and white. They are enumerated not in the order of preference. The breed is more valued for its herding abilities than for certain looks.
