Also called Rough Collie, Smooth Collie.
As far as the name of the breed is concerned, it could have meant “black,” or could have been due to the fact that once these dogs were used to pull the carts of ore out of coalmines. They strive to please the family, and are relatively easy to train and teach new tricks. They generally do well with other pets.
