Colorado collie rescue, like other rescues, educates breeders and saves needy dogs.
All needy dogs are spayed or neutered. They are fully vaccinated and heartworm free and on preventive. Due to the recent increase of incoming dogs with Hip Dysplasia, may organizations have selected to include a veterinary screening for this with all of their dogs. Needy dogs are also temperament and health checked.

This is one of the volunteer non-profit organizations, which accepts the dogs of this breed from owners, shelters, and other rescuers. Rescues are usually 1 to 3 years old, on average. There are certain advantages in adopting an adult dog. However, such organizations do receive puppies and seniors on occasion.
