The breed appeared in the 1950s, but it is not yet recognized as a separate breed. Puppies are still produced by mating purebred and traceable Poodles and American Cocker spaniels. These dogs are very long lived and healthy, and they do not shed, or shed very little. A cockapoo michigan breeder will know just as much as breeders from any other state.
