The distinctive characteristic of the breed is the head, which is well rounded and has a small pointed muzzle. The eyes of these dogs are large and luminous; the large ears are held erect. There are two types of the breed: longcoats and smoothcoats.

These dogs make superb family companions, especially for old people. They are very easy to care for and do not require much space. However, they appreciate love and attention, and need daily activity. They love to run and perform tricks, as they are usually very pleased to bring joy to their loved ones.
