Miniature Chihuahua
When looking for a miniature chihuahua, finding a photo of the dog is helpful.
The only difference within this breed is based on the coat length and there is no such a thing as teacup or tiny breed. Sometimes, a very small dog can occur, but it is not a type. These dogs may be from 1 lbs to 6 lbs and larger. Some dogs of this breed have a soft spot (molera) on the head that used to be regarded as a mark of purity, but even now some lay people and vets diagnose such dogs as hydrocephalic and may euthanize them.

These dogs have fragile bones and hence require very careful handling. They should not be left around small children or larger dogs without supervision. In general, they are healthy and long-lived, although some lines are prone to eye problems and hip dysplasia. These are hereditary diseases, and affected species should not be used in breeding programs. Some dogs may go down with epilepsy and hypoglycemia, which also may be inherited. Hypoglycemia is a disorder resulting in dangerously low amount of carbohydrates in the body, which impedes the functioning of the brain and thus affects the work of life-supporting organs.
