Some variants are possible within the breed, but very small dogs cannot be called a separate type. Such dogs need special vet attention and should not be bred because the risk of complications is very great and the female may die during the labor. Caesarian sections should only be conducted by trained specialists. Because newborns have very fragile bones, care must be taken not to injure them during labor. These dogs are born with moleras in the skull, which may remain unclosed for the rest of the life.
