Tiny Teacup Chihuahua
A tiny teacup chihuahua is not a breed type of it's own; training started when still in the kennel is important.
There exist dogs of this breed that weigh from 1 to 3 pounds and are called pocket-size or miniature. The fact is that these dogs are not the separate type within the breed, but either prematurely born puppies or animals with a dwarf gene. Very small dogs are rather expensive and may reach up to $3000. Breeders should be discouraged from producing the animals of small sizes, because it results in genetically dysfunctional dogs that are very difficult to keep. Such dogs don’t live a long and happy life.

Purebred dogs rarely suffer from hereditary diseases and may live 15-17 years. They retain their stamina and vivaciousness well into adulthood and are more active than some people think. They appreciate daily rigorous exercise and walks, and there should be enough space in the house for a dog to warm up. It takes a little bit of patience and experience to housebreak the dog, because it has a stubborn streak. The dog appreciates training through positive reinforcement and hates roughness or indifference on the part of the owner.
