These tiny creatures seem to be unaware of their size and are bold with larger dogs protecting the master. They are suspicious of any stranger and new guests and make excellent watch dogs. On the other hand they are very loyal and loving to the owner. This breed needs a lot of human attention and contact and if the dog doesn’t get this, it uses various tricks to attract attention. In return these dogs give much love and affection. If you are not home during the day, keep several dogs.

The Chihuahua -
breeders, puppy
The breed originated in the same-name state of Mexico, and most probably, descended from the ancient Techichi dog of ancient Aztecs and Toltecs. Those dogs were a little larger in size, and must have had longer coat. Their skeletons have been found in ancient graves, as they were buried together with their owners as part of religious rites. Those dogs were believed to have the ability to steer human souls through the underworld. The modern species might have been produced by crossing the Techichi dog with some small breed brought along by Asian immigrants.
