Blue Chihuahua Puppy
A blue chihuahua puppy should be purchased from an experienced breeder with photos and pedigrees.
Though such dogs may come in all possible colors and patterns, this color is rather rare in this breed. The most preferable colors are solid white, black and tan; Silver, fawn and chocolate are considered to be exotic colors for this breed. Purebred dogs are rather expensive, especially if they have champion bloodlines (from $400 to $1000;) very small individuals of rare colors may reach $3,000. Such animals require special care, as they are very fragile and vulnerable and the owner should be ready to pay vet bills.

Blue Chihuahua Puppy -
breeder, photos
The breed originated in Mexico. Most probably, it descended from the ancient Techichi dog that was used by Aztecs and Toltecs in religious ceremonies. A lot of their skeletons have been found in ancient graves. They were buried together with their dead owners and were believed to steer human souls through the underworld. People of lower social layers used them as food. Modern dogs are different from Techichi dogs, but might have been produced by crossing the Techichi dog with some Asian breed that arrived in the region along with Asian immigrants.
