Avoid breeders claiming that they raise only so-called miniature or pocket-size dogs of this breed. Reputable specialists and breed fanciers will never breed such dogs on purpose, because very little puppies have many health problems and the mortality rate among them is rather high. The fact is that very small puppies are often not fully developed because they have been born prematurely in the same litter with “normal” ones. Very rarely puppies with a dwarfing gene are born, but they are not usually sold to average people.
