This is a very small and delicate dog that requires very careful handling. It is quite easy to care for and it makes a superb companion for the elderly. It can be a great therapy dog. The breed originated centuries ago and descended from the ancient Techichi dog of Aztecs and Toltecs. Those dogs were different from their modern descendants, and the modern species must have appeared after crossing the Techichi breed with some other dog brought along by Asian immigrants.
