Chihuahuas
Chihuahuas are a happy breed that doesn't require extensive training and remains puppy like even as an adult dog.
The dogs of this breed are unique, because it is the only breed indigenous to the Western Hemisphere, the smallest dog in the world and the only natural toy-breed that originated without human interference. These dogs were popular among the Aztecs and the Toltecs. Today this breed is very popular as lap dogs, therapy animal and ideal pet to keep in an apartment. They vary in size from 2 to 12 pounds, but the AKC accepts only dogs that don’t exceed 6 pounds. This breed is good at conformation and agility.

Although these dogs are the smallest ones on earth, they do not seem to think so. They are usually suspicious of strangers and can challenge much larger dogs. They are not as amicable as they may look, and it takes quite a while for a dog to get used to a new person. These little dogs require daily rigorous activity, and there should be enough space in the house. They do appreciate active game and running, but are not supposed to be involved in service, except as therapy dogs.
