Bacterial diseases and viruses are the most common causes of deaths of dogs under 3 weeks of age. In this case the breeder should look after the babies constantly, just like they were human babies.

Baby dogs are extremely vulnerable to head injuries, because they have an unclosed spot on top of the skull called ‘molera’ or ‘fontanel.’ They have very fragile bones and hence are very susceptible to injuries.
