The personality of such animals is very friendly; they take the best traits from their ancestors and are smart, intelligent, loving and well adapted to an apartment living.

These dogs are not intended for breeding projects. They are great pets and can be very helpful in improving the lives of disabled or elderly people. They appreciate communication and attention and in the course of time may even get along with non-canine pets. However, they are not recommended for families with young children, who may accidentally injure them. They appreciate active exercise and games, but do not require a large yard and usually do okay indoors. They tend to bark a lot, but can be trained not to do so.
