Chihuahua Long Hair
The chihuahua long hair breed is not found in rescues and is most easily obtained through breeders.
This is a separate type within the breed (the other type is called smoothcoats.) Such dogs should be brushed regularly, and bathed when it is necessary, because they shed all the time. Both varieties are pretty and affectionate and have the same temperament. As for the coat color, every possible pattern is permissible in this breed. Light solid colors are preferable. The prices for these dogs depend on the color and size to some extend: a very little dog of unusual color can reach up to $3000.

This breed is relatively easy to care for, but is characterized by a complicated temperament. Puppies must be socialized as early as possible, because they tend to develop a hatred of other dogs in adulthood. These dogs can be wayward at times, and despite their small size, they have the guts to stand up against a much larger animal. They are naturally suspicious of strangers and do not like it when many people gather in the house. These doggies appreciate daily exercise and are ardent travelers.
