CCRT is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to finding homes for abandoned and abused dogs of this breed. The organization screens the living condition of all prospective owners and provides follow-up support. All dogs for adoption are vaccinated, spayed or neutered. To reduce the number of abandoned animals the organization educates the dogs owners and the general public about this breed, its special needs, habits and problems associated with it, because some people who want to own a dog are not ready to face them.

If you would like to have a dog in possession, you must be sure this is really something you can handle with ease. You must be ready to a number of inevitable inconveniences that are actually part of being a dog owner. This is a low-maintenance breed, but it is very delicate and fragile and requires very careful handling. Although these dogs are very small, they have a mind of their own and can be stubborn and saucy. Training should be very patient and consistent. Rough methods of training do not work with this dog.
