We live on five acres and are looking for a companion/family member. We've had a Rotty/Sheperd mix dog in the past and it was a terrific mix...best of both breeds.
Unfortunately, mixes of these two breeds are difficult to find.

We have a seperate chain link fenced area of about 2,000 sq. ft for business. And another 4,000 sq. ft.+ wooden fenced area for training and play. Our dogs have access from outside to our back porch or to the garage with a smaller kennel and large insulated doghouse. (Via doggie door!)

We have a 6 year old male Lab/Rotty mix, but the lab in him just can't stay out of our pond...when he goes swimming; a bath afterward is required!

I believe we can offer a superb home to an otherwise-considered mutt. Please respond if you know of any of these such dogs.

Thank you!

Rottweiler:Rottweilers are imposing, beefy, hardy dogs with sinewy, sturdy frames and a deadly scissors bite. Luckily for pet owners, they’re ardent, loyal guard dogs and will protect families and property alike. They’re also bright, love to play, and love to please. With early socialization and steadfast training, this dog can be a friend to humans and animals alike. They will risk their lives to protect their family so a couple well-trained Rottweilers are good in family self-defense. Rottweilers need a lot of exercise. Fetch, jogging, swimming, and outdoors playtime are what the Rottweiler needs to be pristinely happy. Just be sure that you stay with it most of time time because it loathes being alone. A vigorous dog like this will require plenty of pet food that has meat as the primary ingredient. Some pet food has too much starch or moisture content. Sustenance is a positive plus for this dog! The Rottweiler is reportedly the cause of the most fatal assaults on humans and other dogs; it is usually only due to an unbridled aggressive posturing that resulted from abuse or outright mistreatment. Generally, these dogs are very fun and have a lot of love to express. They’re akin to mighty warriors with tough shells and big hearts. The Rottweiler has a broad frame, dark eyes, a docked tail, and a brown rust-like coloring on certain parts of their coat, otherwise dark black. The contrasting rust color is usually around their jaw, muzzle, eyes, chest, and limbs. This is what helps distinguish it from a chocolate Labrador – besides its heftier frame. It has a height threshold from 24 to 27 inches, a weight range of 95 to 130 pounds, a big broad head, dark or orange eyes, and cute triangular ears. The dog’s length is slightly longer than its height by a factor of about 10 to 9. That proportion should be pretty average. A Rottweiler should get along fine with other pets, including cats, if its grown up with them. Negative experiences, or inexperience, with cats can be frightening or deadly for both parties. The temperament of the Rottweiler is familiar to anyone who’s owned one. Owners concur that the confident, self-assured attitude and aloofness is just part of the picture. The strong desire to work, to protect the owner and his home, and to be companionable is the other part. Rottweilers are occasionally called Rotties. They date back to Rome where they were used to herd animals like cattle. Many times, the Rottweilers bred with similar dogs in the conquered villages of Roman soldiers. True to its origins, the dog is used by law enforcement, herders, and trackers the world over. They have surprisingly large litters - sometimes approaching 12 pups. They prefer cool weather with ample shelter. Some people prefer cool temperatures at night, and Rottweilers are very similar.
