The animal resembles the Lynx in appearance and they have dark tufts on the large, pointed ears. The animals have a slim body. The legs are thin and the tail is very long; longer than the Lynx has.

The habitat of these animals is dry savanna and woodland areas, arid or semi-dessert locations. The animals can survive for long periods without water; they get water from the metabolic moisture of its prey. The animals can be found in the Middle East and Southern Asia up to India.
