The Breed Standard for Cairn Terriers in the U.S. states that the dog should be 9-1/2 to 10 inches tall at the shoulder, and weigh about thirteen to fourteen lbs., with bitches slightly smaller. Though there is of course some divergence from the standard that is usual.
