Their figure strongly resembles that of Siamese cats, and earlier the Burmese were viewed as Siamese cats. Dr. Joseph Thompson introduced his chocolate female, named Wong Mau, to a Siamese male in 1930. The litter produced species of three varieties, one of which (brown) was to become the Burmese breed.
