Cats Burmese

Genetically these cats go back centuries ago, when they were popular among temple priests, who kept them as pets. First such cat arrived in the US in 1930. It was a female, named Wong Mau, which was coupled with a Siamese Seal Point male.

The litter contained several hybrids, of which chocolate-brown kittens were picked out for further breeding. Modern cats feature sturdy bodies, yellow eyes and round-tipped ears, which are set wide apart and are inclined forward. These cats have straight backs, roomy chests and straight tails.
