Bulldog pups are sensitive and gentle; they need lots of attention, rest and sleep. When bringing a pup home from the breeder, it’s recommended to change its life as little as possible. Every breeder recommends new owners to follow the feeding and sleeping routine the pup is accustomed to. A Bulldog pup should not play hard and run much, as it may be dangerous for its growing bones and joints. The owner should be firm and consistent when training and housebreaking the pup. Housetraining should begin immediately after bringing the pup home.

From their old fathers modern Bulldogs have inherited large head, wrinkled muzzle, powerful body and distinctive upturned jaw, which used to provide for a firm bite. Despite their somewhat aggressive look, these dogs are gentle and convivial, and they are not even wary of strangers. The Bulldog originated in the 13th century, when bull-baiting traditions started developing. These dogs were larger than their modern descendants, and they had a fairly vicious and aggressive temperament.
