These dogs are gracious, statuesque and active, and they have more vivid behavior than their English counterparts. They have well developed hunting and tracking abilities, and, unlike English species, they are good jumpers. This is a new breed, but it seems to be more similar to the old-time butcher dog. These dogs love human attention, and they are not as vicious as many people believe them to be. They are not wary of other pets or strangers, and they can get on well with children.
