French Bulldog Journal
A french bulldog journal kept by a breeder contains many pictures of the foundation stock.
Most dogs of this breed are bright, easygoing and curious. They like to investigate everything new and get along well with strangers. These dogs make good and reliable companions; smaller children should not be left with them unsupervised, because these dogs, especially puppies, are very fragile. This variety of the breed is healthier compared to the English variety. A puppy can be trained and socialized easily, if the owner is experienced and patient. These dogs tend to bond to one person. They are alert and may serve as alarm dogs.

Also called English Bulldog.
The ancestors of these dogs were very popular in the times of bull-baiting, which was banned in 1835. After that, the breed’s popularity plunged, and there was a threat of extinction. Later, breeders selected against violence without stopping to boost the dog’s physical characteristic. Eventually, breeders came up with dogs, that were a little menacing in appearance, but absolutely inoffensive in temperament. Modern species are very convivial, people-oriented and affectionate, and they can be excellent companions for children and elderly people. They don’t mind the presence of other pets in the house.
