Bulldog Graphics

Bulldog graphics and photos of the puppy can be seen on special photo galleries. These dogs can be traced back to the 1200s, when they were popular among butchers, who used them for killing raging bulls. Killing a raging bull was of importance, because the meat was believed to be more delicious than that of a bull killed in a calm state. Bull baiting tradition existed until 1835, and its prohibition contributed to the decline of the breed. A group of devoted people decided to retrieve the dog, and these efforts resulted in the appearance or three direct descendants: English, French and American. Also called English Bulldog.

Today, dogs of this breed differ much from their ancestors. Their original aggression is no longer encouraged; breeding programs aim at temperament and health of the dogs. Working abilities are less important than good health and friendly personality, because these dogs are used mostly as pets and family companions. Only American variety of the breed is still used for hunting small game. It’s the duty of the owners to train and exercise these dogs regularly and keep them in a good form. Most dogs of this breed prefer lying in the sofa to playing outdoors. Bulldog graphics and photos of the puppy can be seen on special photo galleries.
